The Diploma in Theology introduces students to advanced Biblical studies, religion, ministry principles and dynamics together with a study on the key biblical disciplines, sign language, research, spiritual formation, Christian Thought and History. The emphasis on Biblical studies prepares students for sound preaching and teaching. The program is done in view of “being trained to serve.” As a way of empowering students, life survival skills are also included in the program. The programme is designed primarily for individuals preparing for or already involved in Christian ministry or service. Furthermore, the program provides a stimulating academic experience and an unmatched educational experience through which students can reach their spiritual intellectual potential in preparing for Christian ministry and service. Practical experience is gained through participation in campaigns, field practicums, weekend evangelism, preaching and teaching Bible classes and personal evangelism.
This is an introductory course to the Diploma in Theology which can act as an entry qualification to the NDT program. Those without the necessary entry qualifications to the NDT program can start with the NCT or NCPS program.
Besides being taught life survival skills such as bee keeping, goat production, poultry, rabbit production and piggery, students doing the NDT and NCT programs undertake the NCH as elective. The program also encompasses modules in Entrepreneurship Skills Development, Community Development and Poverty Alleviation. The aim is to equip students and ultimately their intended community with life skills and to instil an attitude of self-reliance and unyoke the yoke of dependence that seemingly remain the major enemy towards development. The NCH program is intended to instil horticulture skills within students.
